Colds and the flu can be extremely debilitating, especially when your loaded schedule doesn’t allow you to rest as much as you need to. All you can do is try every cure available from the pharmacy.
However, doctors have found some ways to prevent or treat these conditions that might work for you too:
- Exercising – according to WebMD.com, some doctors said they always find 30 minutes for a cardio workout in the mornings. Exercising your heart can boost your immune system and, in time, can prevent cardiovascular diseases.
- Herbal medicine – yes, even doctors rely on plants when it comes to preventing colds or the flu. Echinacea seems to be a favorite, thanks to the boost it can give your immune system. Not only does it help boost your resistance to the external viruses, it can also help relieve the symptoms in case we get sick.
- Pain relief – if we do get ill, doctors say pain killers are a good way of treating the symptoms of a cold or flu, as long as we do not use them too often.
Whether we are doctors or not, one thing is certain: no one can afford 2-3 days off work every time we catch a cold or a flu. This is why prevention is key, whether we are talking about flu shots, routine check-ups, participating in sports, or simple rest and relaxation.
