Bucharest, 26th April 2012: With all the stress and strains of modern life, health insurance is now more important than ever. Buying a private health insurance may be challenging as there are many factors that one needs to take into account when choosing the right policy. There are some points that must be considered and MediHelp’s team of experts brings some light over the most important issues:
1.Your attitude towards your own health – “Let’s say you have a busy day at work, but you are not feeling your best. What do you choose to do? Take some time to rest or go to the doctor, or neglect the discomfort and continue working? Answering simple questions like this will show you exactly what is your attitude towards your own health and this is one of the first aspects you should clarify when trying to decide what private insurance plan to choose. Your attitude towards your own health is a good indicator of the private health insurance plan you should chose, its components and coverage ”, says Roxana Scutaru, Sales Manager at MediHelp International.
2. Asses your medical history –You should try to keep a clear head and make a list of all the affections you have suffered from during your life. The diseases that have affected your family members are also important and can show you what you may expect in the future and consequently what to ask for in a private insurance plan.
3. Your profession and your hobbies –When going for a private health insurance plan you should also take into consideration the risks your job or hobbies imply: “Am I under a great amount of daily stress? Do I have an unhealthy lifestyle? Do I travel often? Do I have any dangerous passions such as extreme sports? These are questions I always ask when trying to establish the best fit for my client’s private health insurance plan. The answers give me a glimpse into one’s life and are useful insights both for me and the client”, says Roxana Scutaru.
4. Asses your wants and needs – The private health insurance should be a perfect match between your wants and your needs. Insurance plans can be adapted so that they fit the customer like a glove. Thus, when thinking about a private health insurance you should first make a clear assessment of the things you absolutely want and need and the ones that just look good on paper, but have no real value to you or your lifestyle.
5. Chose a consultant you can trust – Last but not least, it is very important to work with a private health insurance consultant who you know has your best interest at heart. “As the market grows, there will be more and more people trying to sell you different insurance plans. It is all good if they help you find the right plan for you or your family and not just meet their monthly target. I always say you should look for two things in a consultant you can trust: check that he/she is a very good professional and also a caring human being”, concludes Roxana Scutaru from MediHelp International.
